Greenhouse grown vegetables harvested daily, 365 days per year, enhancing Canadian food security and replacing high carbon intensity imports with local, fresh, quality produce
We are launching our greenhouse operations in Alberta, less than 200 km from retailer Distribution Centers. Our first set of greenhouses will each be 65,000 sq. ft. and produce approx. 6,000 heads of lettuce per day or 2.2 million per year.
Our greenhouse technology uses 95% less water than outdoor agriculture, no chemical pesticides or fertilizers, and produces no toxic run-off. Rain and snow are collected from the roof and recycled.
Local production means local economic development; net new business for local farmers; fresher and safer produce for consumers; longer shelf-life and fewer supply chain interruptions for retailers; and a massive reduction of the carbon footprint of Canada’s food supply chain.
Continuous growing: Produce crops 365 days per year
High yield: Multiple crops per year: harvest everyday on a regular schedule
Water efficient: 95% less water usage than outdoor agriculture—crucial for climate change mitigation
Control: Create optimum growing conditions for each crop
Quality control: Controlled environment: temperature, light, water, nutrients
Protection: Protect crops from harsh elements, pests, and predators
Healthy: No chemical pesticides: great for consumers and the environment
Clean work: Healthy, chemical free work environment with no toxic runoff
Low Risk: Controlled environment growing significantly reduces risk of E. coli, listeria, salmonella and other pathogens
